Some stars are actually encrypted alien communications. Wait, what?

A physicist recently wrote a paper with a thesis that ponders the idea that interstellar communications between alien life forms could actually exist. Say what?

When we gaze up at the night sky, we might be accidentally eavesdropping on an alien conversation.

Terry Rudolph theorized extraterrestrial civilization might alter the light coming off stars in order to communicate across interstellar distances.

The basic idea is to use entangled photons from different stars to transmit messages that appear to be random twinkling to any nosy onlookers.
